Coming of Age
I enjoyed this text because I could identify with the text. Witnessing the changes of older language, communication, and physical tools used for communication I was really engaged with the reading. Understanding not only what people said but how they did so is just important. I reflected on old cave pictures or quilts that told a story, and how some people do not realize how they help people to communicate. Knowing previous methods of communication allows also for a communication system that is constantly evolving. Some of the tools people use today would never been thought of years ago. Although I enjoy the modern language and the different methods I am able to use to do so such as the internet, the cell phone, and instant messaging systems I feel that words in previous years meant more and left less room for misunderstandings.

I also really enjoyed seeing how far communication and writing has evolved over the centuries. It's so crazy to think that everyone used to write symbols on stones and cave walls to communicate, and now its so different, and is still constantly evolving.
ReplyDeleteIdeas are the only revolving thoughts that seem to be expressed through buldings, artwork and things of that nature. I trulely believe that without ideas and we as humans putting them together and actually working with them, the world be a complete disaster.
